Marketing Minor

Marketing Minor Requirements (21 credits)

Required Grades and GPA
  • C or higher in BUS-K 201
  • C- or higher in all other minor courses
  • Overall GPA of 2.0 in all courses required for the minor
Other Policies
  • A maximum of one course for the minor can be taken on an IU-approved study abroad program, where available. 
  • A minimum of 12 credit hours must be completed on the IU-Bloomington campus.
Note
  • The Marketing Minor is declared in the school of the student’s major. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their major department for the school’s procedure.
  • The Marketing Minor is open to students pursuing majors outside of the Kelley School of Business.

  • BUS-A 200: Foundations of Accounting (3 credits) P: none
    • While not recommended, students may substitute BUS-A 304/307 or BUS-A 306/309 to meet the Accounting requirement for the minor
  • BUS-K 201: The Computer in Business (3 credits) P: none

Required Marketing Courses (9 credits hours)

  • BUS-M 300: Introduction to Marketing (3 credits) P: Must not be a Kelley School of Business student
  • BUS-M 311: Introduction to Marketing Communication (3 credits) P: BUS-M 300
  • BUS-M 312: Retail Marketing Management (3 credits) P: BUS-M 300

Elective Courses (6 credit hours)

  • BUS-C 300: Business Communication (3 credits) P: ENG-W 131 (or equivalent) with a C or higher.
  • BUS-F 300: Introduction to Financial Management (3 credits) P: BUS-A 200 
  • BUS-G 300: Introduction to Managerial Economics & Strategy (3 credits) P: Must not be a Kelley School of Business student
  • BUS-J 306: Strategic Management & Leadership (3 credits) P: Must not be a Kelley School of Business student
  • BUS-P 300: Introduction to Operations Management (3 credits) P: BUS-K 201/204 with grade of C or higher
  • BUS-R 300: Real Estate Principles (3 credits) P: Sophomore standing
