Transfer Credits Policy

Degree Type: Business Degree

Acceptance of credit from other colleges and universities is processed by the Indiana University Office of Admissions. The applicability of credit toward degree requirements for Business majors, minors, and certificates is determined by the Kelley School.

  • For Kelley School of Business majors, no required BUS courses, ECON-B 251, ECON-B 252, or courses that count for the Kelley Statistics requirement may be transferred in.  Business majors may transfer in credit for BUS-F 260 and/or BUS-X 100 for elective/supplemental credit or GenEd S&H credit, if specified on the IUB GenEd approved course list (opens in new window) for the relevant academic year.
  • For students pursuing a Kelley School of Business minor and/or certificate, please see the Business Minor Residency: Transfer, Intercampus, and Study Abroad Credit and Business Certificate Residency policies, in addition to the individual minor or certificate pages in the Majors, Minors & Certificates section of this bulletin for further information.

Business majors, please also refer to the Business Course Residency policy in this bulletin for additional information about where eligible coursework can be completed.

Intercampus transfer students should refer to the BUS Credits for IU Intercampus Transfer Students policy.

For information on student responsibilities when taking courses outside of IUB, including how to identify approved transfer equivalents, see the Courses outside of IU Bloomington: Student Responsibility policy.
